Overview
A global, high-growth technology-enabled services organization is conducting a confidential search for an experienced In-House Counsel to join its legal team. This role will support technology-driven platform businesses, strategic partnerships, and enterprise vendor engagements.
The ideal candidate is a commercially minded attorney who thrives in fast-paced, matrixed environments and enjoys partnering closely with business, product, technology, and operations leaders. This position offers meaningful exposure to complex technology transactions, data privacy considerations, and emerging areas such as AI.
Key Responsibilities
Technology & Platform Transactions
Review, draft, negotiate, and close a broad range of technology agreements, including:
Software licensing
SaaS and cloud services
Hosting and technology services agreements
Serve as a primary legal partner to internal stakeholders supporting platform-based products and solutions.
Provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice aligned with business objectives.
Address legal and regulatory requirements related to technology implementation and use, including data privacy and information security (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).
Act as the day-to-day legal point of contact for contract interpretation and transactional inquiries.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes.
Strategic Partnerships & Vendor Agreements
Negotiate and advise on enterprise partnerships, strategic alliances, and vendor agreements.
Support cross-functional teams in evaluating deal structures, risk allocation, and compliance considerations.
Assist in designing scalable frameworks and templates to enable efficient deal execution while maintaining appropriate risk controls.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Risk Management
Partner closely with teams across product, sales, technology, operations, privacy, information security, finance, and HR.
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable laws and regulations.
Stay current on relevant legal and industry developments, including evolving data privacy and AI-related regulations.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (New York or California preferred).
3–7 years of relevant legal experience, including:
Significant experience with technology and complex commercial transactions or
Strategic partnerships and enterprise agreements.
Strong preference for candidates with a combination of law firm and in-house experience, particularly in high-growth or technology-driven environments.
Proven ability to manage high volumes of work, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
Strong business judgment with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and advise stakeholders at all levels.
High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential matters.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating in a matrixed organization.
Preferred Experience & Attributes
Demonstrated interest in technology, AI, and emerging digital solutions.
Experience with or strong exposure to data privacy matters; privacy certification is a plus.
Background working with or advising regulated industries.
Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort navigating ambiguity and change.
Willingness to take ownership, operate with urgency, and lead initiatives proactively.
