About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Compliance Practitioner to own the regulatory and examination response function. This role is ideal for someone who has personally managed regulatory exams end-to-end—from request letters to final submissions—and who thrives in the details of evidence gathering, response assembly, and regulator interaction.
This is not a purely advisory role. You will be deeply involved in day-to-day compliance operations, working across systems (both modern and legacy) to assemble accurate, defensible regulatory responses.
What You’ll Do
Lead and execute regulatory and examination responses from start to finish
Personally draft and/or significantly contribute to written responses for regulatory exams and audits
Pull, organize, and validate compliance evidence from multiple carrier systems
Maintain and improve evidence repositories, documentation, and exam preparation materials
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate submissions
Serve as a subject-matter expert on how examinations actually work in practice, including regulator interaction and follow-up
Hands-On Experience We’re Looking For
Regulatory & Examination Experience
Direct experience responding to regulatory exams or audits
Strong understanding of the full exam lifecycle:
request receipt → evidence categorization → response assembly → regulator engagementWorking knowledge of current AI-specific regulatory developments, such as NAIC Model Bulletins, state AI bulletins, and the NAIC AI Systems Evaluation Tool (practical familiarity expected, not expert-level)
Systems & Evidence Management
Experience retrieving compliance evidence from legacy core systems (e.g., mainframe-era policy administration, legacy claims platforms, or similar)
Comfortable working in imperfect data environments, including:
Manual data extraction
Systems that do not integrate
Maintaining shadow spreadsheets or trackers when no native system exists
Understanding where compliance evidence lives across carrier systems and how to access it efficiently
GRC & AI Governance Tools
Hands-on experience with at least one GRC platform, such as:
AuditBoard, OneTrust, LogicGate, MetricStream, ServiceNow GRC, Workiva, Hyperproof, or equivalentFamiliarity with AI governance work, including:
AI-specific governance tools or
Supporting AI governance committees
Assembling AI-related compliance evidence and documentation
