Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Corporate Sales Trainer to drive the growth and success of an independent sales organization. This role is responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of the independent sales force by designing and delivering high-impact training programs that strengthen product knowledge, consultative selling techniques, technology adoption, and regulatory compliance.
The Corporate Sales Trainer will collaborate closely with sales leadership, distribution partners, and cross-functional teams to develop scalable learning initiatives that improve sales performance, accelerate onboarding, and support a sustainable, high-performing sales model. The ideal candidate is an engaging facilitator, strategic thinker, and skilled coach with a passion for developing people and driving measurable business results.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Development
Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs aligned with business objectives and growth strategies.
Create advanced learning curricula focused on consultative selling, product knowledge, compliance requirements, and technology utilization.
Develop and maintain a complete library of training resources, including instructor-led materials, webinars, videos, e-learning modules, and interactive content.
Implement training evaluation processes and performance metrics to measure effectiveness and ensure sales professionals meet or exceed performance standards.
Maintain accurate training records, attendance reports, certifications, participant feedback, and learning outcomes to support continuous improvement.
Sales Performance & Distribution Support
Conduct field visits to sales offices, agencies, and distribution partners to identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with sales leaders to strengthen "train-the-trainer" initiatives and reinforce compliance and operational standards.
Review and approve sales scripts, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and regulatory requirements before implementation.
Analyze sales performance data throughout the entire sales cycle—from prospecting through closing—to identify training opportunities and recommend performance improvement strategies.
Support the adoption of best practices, sales processes, and technology tools that improve productivity and sales effectiveness.
Leadership & Mentorship
Partner with corporate and field leadership to assess learning needs and develop customized training plans and schedules.
Mentor newly appointed independent sales professionals, facilitating effective onboarding and accelerating time-to-productivity.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, coaching, and professional development across the independent sales organization.
Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to reinforce learning and drive sustained improvement.
Strategic Collaboration
Partner with Marketing to develop engaging educational content, including videos and digital learning assets that reinforce product knowledge and technology adoption.
Manage relationships with external training vendors, ensuring learning content remains relevant, effective, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate training initiatives with broader business strategies and organizational goals.
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in required meetings, planning sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay informed of industry trends, sales methodologies, and adult learning best practices to continuously enhance training programs.
Travel as needed to support field training, sales meetings, workshops, and business initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Spanish and English Professional Proficiency
3–5 years of experience as a Corporate Trainer, Sales Trainer, Learning & Development Specialist, or similar role with a strong emphasis on consultative sales.
Solid knowledge of life insurance products, market segments, distribution channels, and industry practices.
Proven ability to apply industry knowledge to support business objectives and sales growth.
Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, planning, prioritization, and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, facilitation techniques, and learning technologies.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn new software applications, CRM platforms, and sales enablement tools.
Willingness and ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting independent sales organizations, agencies, broker networks, MGAs, IMOs, or similar distribution models.
Experience in financial services, insurance, or another highly regulated industry.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual learning platforms, and digital content development.
Experience using CRM and sales enablement technologies.
